Senior Designer – Workplace & Commercial

Up to £50,000 | Hybrid Working (3 days in office, 2 from home)

Modus Careers is recruiting on behalf of a respected design-led business specialising in workplace and commercial environments. With an outstanding reputation for delivering intelligent, human-focused solutions for blue-chip clients, they work across consultancy, corporate, and lab sectors to create commercially driven, future-ready environments.

They are seeking a Senior Designer to take a leading role within their London studio. This is a career-defining opportunity for an experienced designer to own the creative and technical direction of major projects, mentor junior colleagues, and shape design standards across the business.

Your Role Will Include:

• Leading the full design process on complex workplace and FF&E projects, from brief to installation
• Acting as design lead in client and architect meetings, driving creative and technical direction
• Overseeing space planning, site surveys, and technical drawing packages
• Reviewing architectural drawings and producing detailed FF&E documentation
• Developing and presenting proposal packs, specification packs, and moodboards
• Coordinating furniture, finishes, and AV/IT requirements into cohesive design solutions
• Running workshops, materials collations, and presentations with clients
• Training and mentoring designers on software and best practices
• Contributing to innovation and team initiatives to enhance the design function

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has 8+ years’ experience in commercial workplace design and FF&E consultation
• Is highly confident leading projects and managing multiple large-scale accounts
• Possesses deep knowledge of furniture, finishes, and technical coordination
• Demonstrates leadership ability in design meetings and client-facing environments
• Has experience mentoring junior designers and providing training on tools/processes
• Is proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp & VRay, Adobe Creative Suite
• Brings strong organisational skills, communication finesse, and a proactive mindset
